A small appeal: Once again.

Journal Entry: Sat Jan 10, 2015, 4:06 AM
I am getting quite a lot feedback on my winter images lately so I was wandering if some of you know my work on other social network pages:

Click to folllow me on Facebook

Click to follow me on G+

Click to follow me on 500px

Therefore I am hoping to convince you to follow me on those pages as well. Since DeviantArt is the page with my biggest following, I am hoping to have some of you follow me on other pages, too.

I am happy to see you guys on G+, 500px or Facebook as well

Autumnal Journey

Journal Entry: Wed Oct 23, 2013, 3:12 PM

Journey log: Stardate -309189.07.

Nearly three months passed since my last trip to Denmark. I am happy to announce that I will be on the road again at the end of this week.
Me and my good friend Alex, you will know him as NicolasAlexanderOtto, are heading for the Bohemian Switzerland and Harz in Germany. A mavelous place with impressive rock formations, the so called Elbe Sandstone Mountains.
The last time that the two of us were heading out was in 2011, I am asking myeself where all the time has gone. !

While staying the Bohemnian Switzerland we will be sleeping in caves and under ledges since tents are not allowed in the National Park. The so called "boofen" is the only authorised way to sleep inside the Park. "Boofen" is a very old east-german tradtion which goes back to the early 19th century when the rugged landscape was used as shelter in times of war. I am so excited about our upcoming trip that sleep continues to elude me. Nevertheless I am aware of this trip's underbelly. Carrying 25kg backpacks, while hiking through the rocks will be difficult and exhausting endeavour. Keeping this in mind I am glad for us to have the right level of fitness to pusure this task.

We will be off for at least 8 days. I wish you all a pleasent week and I hope you wish us nothing but good light.

On the road again!

Journal Entry: Tue Aug 13, 2013, 9:00 AM

After almost 5 months since my last trip to Normandy, France I will be on the road again.

This time I am off to Blavand, Denmark. At the end of this week, we'll start our journey.

My brother, a good friend of mine and me will be out for about one week. I am really looking forward to this trip, to finally be out again. Hopefully I will come back with some useable images.

I guess I'll definitely try to  some night sky images, since Denmark is a lot less light polluted than my home area. Furthermore I surely will make some coastal shots as well (Always depending on the weather).

If disaster strikes and the weather is too bad to do land- or seascapes I already provided myself a plan B. I found some sheltered spots for wildlife photography, so I guess I am well prepared!

See you guys

Autumn Impression:

Journal Entry: Thu Nov 8, 2012, 4:27 AM
With this journal I basically want to show you my latest work, I've done this autumn.
Autumn is nearly over and Winter is arriving very slowly this year. Due to bad weather conditions or lack of time I did not shot a lot, but I think some good results are made. Although more shots would be better of course.

I was pretty dissappionted with the contructive feedbacks / critiques on this page lately, so I hope I'll hear some more thoughts about the images below - in their commentary area - when people read this. I belive interaction is the key to improvement, so I myself try to give as much feedback to mages I like. I hope it becomes more popular.

2 trips to Ruegen

Journal Entry: Sat Aug 4, 2012, 6:14 AM
Nearly one year after my first trip to Germany's biggest island Ruegen, I headed out to the baltic sea again.
Both trips were great for their own reasons and Ruegen is always great to visit.
For my photographic skill, it was always a great opportunity to learn and also my postwork skill improved a lot.

Here are some impressions I took on my trips:

The Baltic Sea, again!

Fri Jul 13, 2012, 9:23 AM

On Tuesday I will head out to Ruegen, again.
Due to my lasting lack of liquidity, I am not able to visit France's Normandy and Brittany.
So my girlfriend and me decided to visit my parents on their holidays, to have the advantage of no accruing lodging costs and to visit one of Germany's nicest places again... So we kill two birds with one stone.

As some of you might know, I visited Germany's biggest island last summer, too.
The trip, together with NicolasAlexanderOtto, was a big win for my portfolio, furthermore it was an improvement of my postwork and shooting techniques.
This year I will also have a new lens on board. I finally got a Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 Makro lens. This will be a big advantage for some coastal shots I have in mind. Furthermore I purchased a Haida ND1000 because I am not pleased with the outcome the Hitech Big Stop is producing. This filter renders itself as big malinvestment, so just in case my Hitech ND1000 will be disappointing, I have a spare one in my pocket.

Today, the weather forecast for the next week isn't very promising, I really have mixed feeling about it. On the one hand I will definitely have clouds and wind for some long exposures, on the other hand never ending rain could have a ruinous effect on the whole trip. But maybe I get lucky with some nice sundowns and sunrises, so wish me luck!

Since I worked on my new shots from my recent trip to Austria I recognised a strong lack of sharpness.
At this point I do not know the problem but I hope I can fix it.
I made some tests here on DA and my problem is the following:
My pictures look ''sharp'' on my monitor but everytime I upload them on DA they seem to be very unsharp, almost blurry.

My steps in photoshop.
1. Threshold
2. Sharpen, amount 100% and a 0.8 radius
3. (Sometimes, depending on the picture) High Pass
4. Color-Management, just a little.
5. Alex Nail's resize
6. Frame

Maybe someone can help me out.
